All Church Picnic
Get ready for another great Memorial Day Weekend at GRACE. We'll be having an Old Fashioned Church Picnic on Sunday, May 26th: worship and games and great food and the chance to just sit and visit. On that day there will be only one worship service, and that will be at 10:30 a.m. (No Sunday School or Bible Class) We'll be in the All Saints Pavilion, so please dress in casual clothes. Children’s Ministry
We place a high priority on nurturing children in their faith. Sunday School classes are conducted year-round. Vacation Bible School is held every summer, normally in June. Midweek activities are offered most of the year on Wednesdays, beginning at 6 p.m. with a dinner. These are open to anyone who would like to come – and it is all free! We want to share the Good News of Jesus that we have received with everyone. Contact DD Pappas for more information.
Military Bible Sticks
Our mission project for April -June of 2013 is to provide Military Bible Sticks for our active duty service men and women. We have done this in the past and it was very well supported, so we have decided to do it again. The Military BibleStick comes pre-loaded with the entire New Testament. It is rugged enough to withstand tough weather conditions, can be used in low-light situations, and it easily fits into uniform pockets. It comes with headphones and runs on a single AAA battery. Men’s Bible Study Breakfast
Every Thursday a group of guys gets together at Braum's in Sherman to have a bite to eat, drink some coffee, spend some time together in God's Word, and then discuss all the problems in the world and how we would fix them. We are currently working our way through the Gospel of John. You are welcome to join us at 6:30 a.m.

Pastor's Corner
On Tuesday I stubbed the big toe on my left foot – twice! The first time was not so bad. It was one of those “I wish I hadn’t done that” moments. But the second time, I was walking to bed in the dark and seemed to focus the entire force of my overweight frame on that poor little digit, inducing a profound ache. On Wednesday, it hurt, but I didn’t pay much attention. By Thursday, the pain radiated halfway to my ankle and across the top of my foot. I was limping noticeably. Yes, it hurt. So did having to explain to people why I was limping.
The truth of Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 12:26 kept coming to mind: If one part suffers, every part suffers with it! And rather than just aching and feeling sorry for myself, I contemplated on what that means for us as members of the body of Christ. We need to take care of the parts that are hurting. Just saying “that’s too bad” and not doing anything to help the hurting parts won’t make things better.
If the body is going to be healthy, we need to care for it. Jesus was always doing that. The most important thing He did was to pay for our sins and assure us of forgiveness, but He did so much more than that. He gave us the example of how to treat others. He was always showing love and care and concern. How can you do that? What can you do to alleviate the suffering of another part of the body of Christ? How can you show genuine care and concern for someone you know who is hurting right now? What would you want them to do for you if you were the one hurting?
We need to care for each other. Paul wrote about that to the Galatians: Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:10)
As for me, I will be looking for ways I can share God’s love and care with those who are hurting. That, and soak my foot in some Epsom salts.
