Mid-Week Lenten Worship

The theme for our mid-week Lenten worship services this year is “Life Together,” based on the book of the same name by Dieterich Bonhoeffer. He was a German theologian martyred by the Nazis near the end of World War II. He wrote to a seminary community in war-torn Germany about the challenges faced by those trying to live as brothers and sisters in Christ. Concordia Seminary in St. Louis has been working through this book as a campus community this academic year, and one class decided to develop a Lenten series from it. I think it will speak to all of us in our Life Together.

Annual Prolife Display

Thanks to a lot of faithful workers, our display is up. The weather was a little damp, but about thirty hard working souls showed up on Saturday to help finish erecting our cross display. May this stark, visible reminder of the number of abortions that take place every day in the United States lead those who see it to consider the immense tragedy this is for our nation and also to see the forgiveness that is available only through Jesus Christ.
On January 16 we will put up the crosses for our annual Pro-Life Display. The crosses represent the number of lives snuffed out EVERY DAY in this country through abortion. We want our community to know that we are for life and that we will help and support them when they find themselves in difficult circumstances. January 24th will be a celebration of Life Sunday in our worship services.

It is official. The Texas District Board of Directors has given final approval on our loan application, so we are ready to proceed with our new construction. The architect is working on the detailed drawings, which should be completed sometime before the end of the year. We look forward to sharing these plans with the congregation as they become available. Please join us in thanking God for this opportunity and pray for His continued guidance throughout this Building Program.
