Mission Project

Our current Sunday School and Midweek Mission Project is supporting a Mission Planter in India. We cannot give his name for his protection. We can tell you that he is working in Kerala on the southern tip of India’s peninsula. There are 32 million people in that state, and about 20% claim to be Christian. There are millions who have never had the chance to hear of God’s redeeming love in Christ Jesus. The need is great, and there are willing workers — they simply need support. In addition to any financial assistance you can give, you are asked to pray for the planter and his family, that he may be filled with knowledge and understanding; pray for his ministry, that he might clearly share God’s Word and His love; and pray against hardships, that he has the strength and patience to endure opposition and persecution.

FallFestOctober 26th   5:00 – 8:30 pm

It’s time for our Fall Fest Fish Fry again!  We’ve got a lot of fish to fry – and none of them are from Lake Texoma, so don’t worry about that.  The meal will be served from 5:00 – 6:30 or until we run out, whichever comes first. The Men of Grace are providing the meal. All proceeds from the donations for the meal will go to support our Mission India Church Planter.

There will be activities for all ages, and you are welcome to come in costume and participate in the fun. Among the scheduled activities are pumpkin painting, a costume contest, a cake walk and hayrides for all.

After dinner, we will have a time for trunk-or-treating for all the kids. Bring goodies to distribute to the kids from your car in the parking lot!
Please bring your friends and family as we come together in fellowship and rejoice in God’s blessings. Hope to see you here!

Children’s Ministry

We place a high priority on nurturing children in their faith. Sunday School classes are conducted year-round. Vacation Bible School is held every summer, normally in June. Midweek activities are offered most of the year on Wednesdays, beginning at 6 p.m. with a dinner. These are open to anyone who would like to come – and it is all free! We want to share the Good News of Jesus that we have received with everyone. Contact DD Pappas for more information.

Sunday School Mission Project

Our Sunday School and Midweek Mission Project for December 2010-Feb 2011 is the Rasch family, missionaries serving in Jos, Nigeria through LCMS World Mission. They were with us here at Grace November 14 to share what they are doing. More information about them can be found here. While our Sunday School  and Midweek offerings will go to support them, other contributions are welcome!  And if any of you would like to offer individual support to the Rasch family, you can do so through www.lcms.org?7889. Information is also available in the church office.

Military Bible Sticks

Our mission project for September – November is to provide Military Bible Sticks for our active duty service men and women. The Military BibleStick comes pre-loaded with the entire New Testament. It is rugged enough to withstand tough weather conditions, can be used in low-light situations, and it easily fits into uniform pockets. It comes with headphones and runs on a single AAA battery. Each kit also includes a CD of the same files that can be loaded on to a computer, as well as a mail in card to have a free CD of the New Testament sent to a spouse or child back home. This entire kit, produced by Faith Comes By Hearing, can be provided to our troops for $25 each. The kits are sent to Chaplains who then distribute them to the service men and women. They are only given to those who request them, and right now the requests far outnumber the funding available.

All the offerings for Sunday School and Midweek will go toward this for this quarter. Anyone who would like to make extra contributions for this project can place it in the regular offering and mark it “Military Bible Sticks.”

May God bless our troops and our efforts to provide them with His Word!

MidWeek

We’ve got a children’s ministry that meets on Wednesdays through the School Year from 6 – 8 p.m. We start by feeding the kids (and anyone else who shows up) a great dinner from 6 – 6:30. After that, the kids have time for Bible stories, games, crafts, and lots of other stuff. We’d love to have you join us.

Fall Sunday School

The new Sunday School Year started September 5. We are excited to see all the children come back for their new classes. We have classes for all ages.
